Too Small?
There is a Great Divide amongst reviewers as to whether this lunch box is too small or 'just right'.
It all comes down to whether you use hard-sided containers to hold your food choices or not. If you use baggies and/or wrap-style products, you will have plenty of room for your lunch. If, on the other hand, you use hard-sided containers, this is not the lunch bag for y...

Not As Pictured! Cheaply Made.
I bought my daughter one of these lunch boxes (the older version) several years ago. It was awesome...with lots of room and sides that actually held themselves up. Unfortunately she lost it. This newer version does not hold a candle to the prior. The picture shown is a picture of the older lunch box. This newer one has sides that don't stand up and are not as deep/high....

nice lunch boxes
I got one of these for each of my kids. They are excellent -- more than enough room for my son, who just needs one snack at school, and just barely enough room for my daughter, who needs a.m. and p.m. snacks and lunch. That much is definitely a little tight, but somehow it always fits, even with a slim ice pack in there. The bags looks great and fit nicely in their back...

Durable!
Bought this lunch box for my 3 year old since he starts 3 year old PreK soon. He has packed the lunchbox full with trains and batteries. The zipper proves to be durable and the mesh is very strong. Great purchase! If it holds up with the daily use of a toddler, the workmanship is awesome!

Perfect size for lunch and small snack
My son has been using his lunch box for over a year and have never had issues. He's now in 2nd grade. Zipper easily pulls and never snags. Easy to clean. However, my current issue is his new metal thermos has torn the inside material, it appears to have sliced straight through to the outside. I'm returning to exchange. I'm disappointed the material did not last and hope...

Too SMALL
This is not as big as they used to be. They are to small to pack a lunch using plastic containers, 2 healthy snacks, a drink cup and an ice pack to keep it cool. Please revise the size of the lunch boxes, because they are great otherwise, but too small.

smaller this year
I have been using these lunch boxes and matching backpacks for my children for the last seven years and love them. However, this season's lunch box was noticeably smaller. I have always been able to pack a standard sized (seven inch) thermos either horizontally or vertically, which makes a difference depending on what else I am packing into the lunch box. This year the ...

Too Small - Size has downgraded from prior version
I bought this to go with the backpack for my son who is now in middle school and needed a more age-appropriate backpack and lunch bag that the L.L. Bean backpack and lunch box he had in grade school. That being said, I didn't bother checking the dimensions - I didn't think they would down-size their standard lunch box, but they did. I am used to being able to fit a drin...

LOVE THIS LUNCH BAG!
This has been great for my daughters first year of kindergarten. Lots of room for food, actually quite deep. Very durable and washes well. Overall very happy with this purchase and will buy another when my next daughter goes to school!

Excellent Lunch Box
I bought my first L.L. Bean lunchbox (or rather, my grandmother bought it for me) back in 2001 when I was in 7th grade. It was navy blue, and I put that lunchbox through a LOT. Recently, the zipper started to become sticky (probably from years of middle- and high-school lunches spilling out into it - and besides that, it's still in great shape), so after 15 years I deci...

Great Lunch box
Just purchased this lunch box for the THIRD time! The first purchase was when my oldest son was in 1st grade, the 2nd time was when he was in 5th grade. My oldest will be going into 8th grade this year & both lunch boxes are holding up well. Today I ordered one for my youngest who starts kindergarten this fall. And the dinosaur print will be a huge hit with him!

Awesome lunch box!
Today I will be placing my second order for this lunch box. It is excellent! Great value! To prove my high rating, it has survived THREE school years for my oldest son! He had this box in kindergarten, first and second grade. Enough said. Thank you, LLBean!

Great lunch bag for my preschooler!
We upgraded from the Skip Hop lunch bag for my 3.5 year old as it was looking rough, and chose this lunch bag in the Camping theme.
It just arrived yesterday and we love it! It's roomier than the Skip Hop and really well built. The Camping pattern is great - looks retro and very "l.l.Bean". The bag didn't have any plasticy smell that is common among cheaper lunch bags...

Love my lunchbox!
I love new lunchbox. It keeps my lunch and snacks cold for daycare. My favorite part is the handle because I can easily carry it without help. My teacher calls it my briefcase because I like to carry it around all the time. It even has pretty butterflies and my name on it so that it doesn't get mixed up with the other lunch boxes.

Miss the old version
The old version was not as long, but had a mesh side pocket for a water bottle. I guess they decided that we should put the drink inside.

Perfect even for adults
I purchased this lunchbox for myself (25yr old) for work. I was a little worried that is would be too little small based on other reviews but its perfect! I can fit a sandwich a couple granola bars, yogurt and fruit in with no problem. I also like the pocket on the outside for holding hair ties, chapstick and other misc items I use daily. The material is very heavy duty...

beginner Lunchbox
I have purchased so many licensed, cheaper lunchboxes in the past that I could have bought 5 of these. These are the perfect size for a small lunch (sandwich, snack and water bottle) and ice pack. They are extremely durable and easy to clean. I have had two of these for over a year ago and they look brand new. I have seen these lunchboxes thrown around the lunchroom, st...
