Such a fun and easy to use Coding Robot!
The reason this particular coding robot appealed to me is that I have 2 boys aged 5 & 8 and I knew they would both be able to use and play with it together and also separately.
The set up of the robot is incredibly easy, I would just note that you need to use strong/new batteries otherwise it may not have enough power. But once up and running the boys quickly found it ...

Botley is super disappointing
I purchased several of these to be used in a educational setting. Botley has great difficulties hooking up to it's remote and batteries die quickly. I am super disappointed. I really like the concept of being unplugged for our young learners. The frustration was too much to overcome. I wouldn't even give it a one star, but I didn't have a choice.

Botley is super disappointing
I purchased several of these to be used in a educational setting. Botley has great difficulties hooking up to it's remote and batteries die quickly. I am super disappointed. Stopped working after only a few uses
Stopped working after only a few uses. Was excited that there was this new version with all the added features! Well, it's seriously deceiving as it now won't work. It's a lot of money for a toy that can't be used, and I don't have a lot of it (money)... I wouldn't buy again nor recommend, sadly! It could have been a really nice toy and learning tool! :(

Stopped responding and beeps repeatedly
Christmas gift for my 6 year old. After 3 days it has stopped working and beeps repeatedly. Super disappointing.

Doesn't work
We got it out and went to program it but it will not move. Also completely drains the battery in minutes.

Disappointing
Botley worked well for a bit but not now. Botley does not receive the sent code and is consistently displaying a blue light, makes a sound like an engine spluttering followed by multiple beeps.

Defective
Botley doesnt take more than 5-6 of commands, then stops. Tried adding more, still stops. Functions work, but with so limited programming it's terrible. Especially as gift for a small one.

Botley robot is not responding
It was fun playing for a while. Botley robot is however not responding after we change batteries. It dies not light up when codes are transmitted, it does not move along the black line. The lights only lit up when we move the wheels.

I would not buy this again
I would not recommend this product. The idea is great however the product quality leaves much to be desired. Our botley lasted only 3 days before the product stopped working. The remote no longer pairs with the botley and there is no way to reset or troubleshoot it. Lot of people seem to have this issue and there is no resolution. Broke Quickly
This was a great toy for a few days. Thought provoking and exciting for all to play with. We were very careful with Botley but after a short period Botley only turns in circles. Pretty disappointing.

Botley is stuck spinning one wheel...
Was a lot of fun...until botley has decided to only spin one wheel constantly and no longer responds to directions. Lasted only a few months. When I sent a message to company 12 months ago I received no response. Sadly I think botley is going to be heading to the dump...

Fun ...while it lasted.
This was great for my five year old ...for about six months. Once the robot and remote stopped communicating, we replaced all batteries -- but no luck. Remote & robot both light up / sound, but no longer communicate to one another. We've scoured the internet for troubleshooting. What a disappointment!

Half of buttons not working
Very fun robot to play and learn simple programming. Unfortunately, a lot of buttons/functions on remote not working (loop button, backward button, light button). Very disappointing for this high price!

Botley 2.0 is a smart and fun introduction to coding
My son (age 5) loves playing with Botley. He picked up the basic controls very quickly, so could get exploring straight away.
Botley has lots of features and games with differing levels of difficulty, which means my son can go off and investigate some on his own and then we can solve the more difficult activities as a family.
