Difficult
You have to unwrap each individual printer cartridge and then open the ink with a orange lever that is difficult to do. It's a hassle and a pain Lots of other HP ink you don't have to do this. And the printer is also a piece of junk. Do not buy

Black did not work
Purchased the multi pack and unfortunately the black ink produced a partial print. Tried shaking the cartridge and reinserting without success

Hello Janet It's unfortunate you experienced a partial print. I would love to help you as much as I can. First check the cartridge ink level in the printer. This gauge shows the percentage of ink left. If there is ink try cleaning the printer rollers of the printer. Printer maintenance helps after the previous step. Purchases and customer service
Products are fine but customer service is not. Since Staples changed the rewards program whereby customers can only retrieve the rewards if they have the App many of us seniors are not tech savvy. The person at the register was very abrupt and not patient nor helpful. It makes it difficult to do business at the East Windsor NJ store.

HP replacement ink cartridge is too expensive.
I regret a family member bought a HP printer but this the last time I buy replacement cartridges. Instead I will buy another brand with ink tanks and better user friendly set up and simple operations than the extra steps on this HP printer.
