I like this better than just a plain, flat clipboard, since it has some storage space underneath. I use it to store bowling-frame sheets and league information, but it can definitely be used for any thin to mid-sized file. 8-1/2" x 11" is also the right size for my purposes. I almost never have occasion to use legal sized paper.

I had a specific use for several of these cases - inspections on the shop floor.
