Bought in January 2025 and already broken
I bought this printer only 9 months ago and it's already broken. Showing error message "48 Cannot Print."I went thu a dozen troubleshooting steps just to be told my only option is to take it to a repair shop. DO NOT BUY.

Not bad product tho a bit flimsy (expected as low cost) but store inventory totally awful as twice product promised/ordered and then cancelled until one good salesperson (Alisha) helped out and procured

Works well. I can’t talk about WiFi setup because I used USB. Setup was a bit of a nightmare because figuring out how to use the up down left and right buttons to set date and time was difficult and unintuitive so I thought the screen was frozen when it wasn’t. But Brother tech support online and by phone was excellent

Honestly kind of scammy
Absolutely refuses to print black and white only when other cartridges are empty. Constantly disconnecting from network and devices.

I’m sorry to hear that you are having wrinkles pages and tray setting issues with the Brother MFCJ1010DW. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you. We can help with that. The Brother MFCJ1010DW is designed to stop ALL printing operations when any of the ink cartridges have reached their end-of-life. This is to ensure the life of the printhead and to maintain premium print quality. Some ink from all the ink cartridges is used in periodic cleaning cycles. This helps to prevent issues such as printhead clogs and poor print quality. There is no way to bypass this feature. If one or more color ink cartridges are low but not at the end of their usable life and you want to minimize the use of color ink, change the settings in the Brother software to print with black ink only (grayscale). If you print with black ink only, the other ink cartridges must have ink for the printer to print. When an ink cartridge is depleted, you must replace it before you can print. If you print with black ink only, the printer may still use small amounts of ink from all the ink cartridges for occasional servicing tasks. Brother recommends that you replace any low ink cartridges to avoid any interruptions in printing. The standard specification for Dual Band routers allow devices connected to different bands (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz) to communicate. Your computer can be connected to the 5 GHz band network and be able to print or scan (depending on your machine's specifications), to the Brother machine connected to the 2.4 GHz band. Your Brother machine will only connect to the 2.4 GHz wireless band. The Brother machine will not "see" or connect to the 5 GHz band of your router. All around good investment
Replaced an old Brothers printer with an updated on. Perfect for my needs. Does it all - print copy fax scan. Great price great product. Easy set up as well. Happy with my purchase and would recommend to anyone looking for simple reliable uncomplicated investment.

Good price and performance
I bought it because my PC still has windows 7 and my printer will no longer operate with that operating system. Installed it to the laptop I bought at Staples a year or so ago (just fired it up for the first time). I only printed 5 documents and it performed well.

Problems
We have 2 laptops 2tablets 1 phone. As of now phone is only device able to print from new printer. I have spent countless hrs with this printer(Good I am retired). Took a break this weekend. No idea what I.am doing incorrectly. I will persevere. Seems like a nice product just not working yet.

It is great
All these functions and great color for only $ 89.00. The printer ink is over priced. I think that is where they make it up. Like Rockelfellar did at Standard Oil. He gave away oil lamps knowing he would make a lot on selling the oil . My last Brother lasted 9 years and cost $99.00.

Bargain Quality
For price print speed Wi-Fi capability ability to print two sides Mobile print and app is easy to use Scanner bed and feeder capabilities very compact design which saves space which makes this the best printer I have come across. Ordered online from the store and arrived in 2 days
