vehicle power adaptor (cig lighter) not included
Took this on a trip and the screen was dark. Unable to see the map. Brightness was at 40% and when I tried to increase it, even though it was plugged into the USB port of the car, it said I had to use the vehicle power adaptor (looks like a cigarette lighter plug) to allow the brightness to increase. Best gps I’ve used
I use this daily for work in patrol as a cop. The screen is bright easily readable and has no lag time. It’s also awesome that it uses usb to plug in and not the standard Garmin ac charger. Screen is the perfect size too. Only down side is I don’t know how to turn off the notifications from my phone as I don’t want that to inadvertently be captured on body worn video

Better Than Built-In Navigation
I use this in the family minivan - a 2017 Toyota Sienna. The Sienna has a built-in navigation system, but it is difficult to use and the maps are very outdated. The Garmin is SO easy to use. It pairs with my smartphone to get traffic and weather, and can even control the music that is streaming from my phone to the van's BT stereo.

Power problem
Was able to charge and update unit (s/n. 7LD048819) using 'C' charge cord from samsung cell phone. After installing in vehicle using blue port on power adapter, unit died. Tried white port, it came to life but constantly flashes between bright and dim screen. Blue port is apparently dead.

Its a shame you abandon legacy items you sell despite item are still working you just give up to throw it as garbage. Would it be better if you adopted something to interface connections to be backward compatible with legacy equipment. My BC 30 still works but my Garrmin GPS wouldnt update - so bought a new GPS but it doesnt work with the BC 30, equipment, shame on you...

Garmin drive smart 66
Had for 3 days. Speny better part of two days trying to get maps loaded as they were out of date. Maps would not load from computer. Do not need Bluetooth, Alex’s or anything else. Just need gps from point A to B. Returning to store

I love Garmin, old one died.
It's ok. I didn't have any more space for up dates. My new Drive Smart 66 is great, but a little much for this 71 year old. I used the cord that came with it as suggested for the computer. Two evenings of trying to get my computer to recognize it. I watched all the Garmin how to videos' more than once. I had nothing else to try, now what? I hooked my android cord up to ...

Can't hear directions
The voice giving directions is so quiet, it is hard to hear. All the other sounds are plenty loud. If I turn my phone on and connect via bluetooth to my headset and the Garmin, the voice volume in my headset is plenty loud.

Don't buy
I purchased this after my other drive smart 66 became unusable after doing a map update. When I got the new one, I updated the software and maps. The same thing happened. The unit says there are no maps loaded. To fix this problem they give you instructions that a computer genius couldn't follow. I returned the unit for a refund.

1) The speed limit on the display is not always correct. There is no option to report an actual speed limit "change". I've driven for miles at 40 mph as displayed only to find out road signs were 55 mph.
2) Only two route options - faster time and straight line. Straight line ??? in a car? Unless I'm missing something here this is totally useless.

Good features
I really like the garmin gps but am disappointed that the power cord still requires the cigarette to supply power. Tried to use the usb directly but did not work. A lot of new cars do not have the cigarette power source

Great Features
Very pleased with this version of Garmin. Large, clear screen. I like the feature on the right side that shows upcoming towns, with icons showing whether food, gas or lodging is available!

Easy to operate. Just speak the name of a place...
Just speak the name of a place and this GPS finds it. Gone are the days when you have to manually enter the address (what a pain that was!!)
I also purchased a back up camera and it sync's perfectly with my new GPS.
High resolution screen.

Very pleased! Can’t beat Garmin reliability.
Works great and is easy to use. My last Garmin lasted 14 years and this one has many added features.

A little better than my last one.
Just bought it a couple of weeks ago. Still getting used to it. I like some things about it and there are some features on my old NUVI 2595 I like better but I think this will work pretty good.
