Tide is designed to provide exceptional cleaning and we're sorry to hear this. Some tips to get the best results with your Tide PODS are: to use the recommended amount of detergent for average water hardness, a little more in very hard water, a little less in very soft water. Also, sort clothes by color and fabrics so that you can use the hottest water that is safe for the fabrics, and use the correct was cycle for the types of fabrics you are washing together. If you notice stains before washing, try pre-treating them. This should help give you the results you're looking for.

The residue can sometimes be a result of overloading your washer. We recommend adding the pod to the back of the washer before any clothing, and ensuring not to overload your washer to allow enough room to move around and dissolve. The best way to remove any residue is to soak your clothes overnight in water, and then re-wash your clothes with no detergent. The residue can be a result of not having enough clothing for your dosage. We don't recommend using a single pod for three pieces of clothing, as one pod is enough for a small load. The safety of our consumers and their families is of great importance to Tide/Gain, but we realize that child-resistant packages like medications and other household cleaners can be a challenge for those with certain physical limitations. In this case, we developed a package that would be both easy for adults of any age to open while being difficult for young children to open.
