Works sometimes
I have been running the S36 on spectrum and it seemed to be working ok. Then I started getting intermittent drops. That went on for a few months and then starting in mid January 2025 it started dropping connection regularly. Had the Spectrum people out here multiple times and nothing seems to fix the issue. Does NOT Work with Xfinity
I bought a brand new G36 and worked with over 10 Xfinity agents to get it activated and working, over in 8 hour period, and I woke up this morning and it doesn't work. Xfinity pays this company
I bought this modem cause this is what Comcast recommended on their website but now I come to realize that Comcast got to be paying this company to keep this product from working properly. Not supported by Xfinity
Xfinity recommends this modem for customers who choose to provide their own hardware and the modem is advertised as supporting Xfinity, and yet there are constant issues while Xfinity refuses to do anything about it.

Lasted 6 months
6 months use before it stopped working. Had xfinity come out and troubleshoot why I lost service. It was this modem.

Compatible with Xfinity? Intermittently drops out
I purchased this gateway modem because it was on the Xfinity approved list for my area in San Francisco. The Internet connection, which is Ethernetted to the G36, intermittently drops out. This modem is not truly compatible with Xfinity.

Low Owner satisfaction!
I bought this about a year ago, set it up and though it works for the speed advertised, I then realized it had no VOIP functionality. Not enough info indicating that was not included. The Modem seems unstable, my wifi security cameras intermittently disconnects. The control interface on the phone app is ridiculous! Cannot do much and the web interface is not much better...

So far the best cable modem I have had
I upgraded from a previous generation cable modem, just wanted a DOCSIS 3.1 modem and a Wi-Fi 6 router. The G36 works really well with Xfinity and so far, I have not experienced any interruptions. The mobile app was somewhat helpful during the setup. The last step was to change the admin password on the router, but the app would refuse to accept my responses to captcha,...

Not good with xfinity
Wanted to save money and stop paying xfinity for modem rental. This unit keeps losing connection multiple times daily. Look for something else if you have cfinity

Doesn't support Xfinity well. Recall needed.
Daily Internet outages on Wi-Fi and the latest firmware update to fix the problem did nothing. This model should get a recall.

I bought this cable modem 6 months ago, during this time I have had ongoing problems. For the first month it worked fine then the problems started, all of my devices would lose connection (including my hard wired tv), the only way to fix was to unplug and reboot. Webgui and app conflict each other
I bought this months ago and I’m impressed with the speed and strong signal. My internet plan is only 300mbs but I’m achieving 600-700mbs easily, 1200mbs on my iPhone. could be amazing but....
Seems like this model has a major cooling issue. This product uses the "smokestack" approach to cool from cooler air being drawn from the bottom and vent through to the top passively. Unless you have this modem near an open window, or enclosed in a fan cooled area you will not be able to generate enough passive airflow to keep this from intermittently working. I hope th...

Amazing once you get it set up, but beware.
There's a high learning curve on this modem/router and I understand why it has a low rating - BUT - Once you get past that rough start it's a great device! If you're still having connection issues/need to reset periodically after successful setup you need to contact your ISP to have them send a tech to check your coax wires and/or electrical socket signal/power drops.
