Merangue refills forCross pens
Not good. Too short it barely extends beyond the tip of the pen. My hand is not relaxed when writing having to keep pen strictly upright. And tip is scratchy not smooth. Disappointed even for the low price. Sorry there was no Cross refill option.

Pen refills
They fit the pens and write smoothly. I like that they were fine point and blue ink. Both are somewhat hard to find.

Staples was almost 100% black ink pens. I wanted a greater variety of blue ink pens which is what I prefer.

Alternate Refill for Cross pen-eventually fit
Cross refills are n longer avail but an alternate mfgr can supply. The Merangue version Fine is a larger waiting tip than expected & also required he Cross pen body to be slightly enlarged to prevent the OD of the new refill from sticking in the pen tip opening. Also as a result of tip sticking/jambing in pen the plastic ink color coded top thread adapter pulled off...

The help I got once I got it was except. There were two people there both very busy..Two checkout stations closed and the two people were very busy.

The refills will be fine. I have since found Cross refills on the Cross website. I ordered 2 reds and will use the Merangue until they run out. Question: Why did Staples stop selling Cross products?

Deceptive packaging
I bought this ink specifically because its label said “Compatible with Cross Pens!” Unfortunately this is not the case. The ink cartridge is too short. I pushed and turned everything on the pen but I couldn’t make it fit. (A comparison w my existing ink cartridge showed the same).

It’s a smaller barrel than the Cross brand. I don’t believe it has equal quality as the Cross brand. I will not purchase it again.

I will not buy again
I cleaned off the tip from what I thought might be protective material. However the ink flow is not good. I bought them because there were no cross refills. I have tossed them.

Hard to FInd
This style of ink refill was difficult to find. This particular store literally had one in their rack so I grabbed it. It works as it should.
