First having a screen makes things easier (not needing to use a phone for basic control is helpful) and the screen guarantees the device is bigger and acoustically has more ability to project better sound further than a smaller unit (eg Dot and Spot devices). Bulky and troublesome but with potential

My favorite device
This is the best smart device I have owned. The ability to use it like a tablet and control numerous devices is awesome. The video quality and ability to watch my pets while not home is a huge bonus. The sound quality is great. I can hear it across my house while cleaning.

Does what it says on the box!
A great piece of technology that does everything it’s supposed to do. I keep it in the kitchen to read my recipes, listen to music or audiobooks, or watch videos.

Statement piece
I was so excited to get this because I always wanted one. I was able to easily set it up. I was able to access pictures to play continuously of my family and even program it to my voice. Adding smart lights soon to that Alexa can help me set the mood.

Makes your home smart after some patience with set up

Great little device to play media on and check weather
I love using my echo for playing podcasts or music while I’m cooking in the kitchen. The audio quality is surprisingly good (good bass too) and I can use Spotify with it. I like that you can upload photos so it acts just like a digital frame when you’re not using it. Also nice to see the weather on it and learn things like word of the day

Improving an already great product

Perfect Kitchen Hub!
I already own the previous Echo Show 5, and I love it but it is a bit too small to really do anything. The best echo product!
The Echo Show 8 is a very impressive device, allowing you to perform innumerable functions and activities from your countertop. Having a screen-based hub to stream video content, Spotify, and personal photo slideshows when not in use makes it a great addition to our kitchen. Mine has some issues.
For the most part the Echo Show 8 (3rd Gen) is a good smart device. I like the size of it and the audio sounds really good. The problem I have had since I received it in the mail, is my camera keeps saying it's unresponsive and so I can't check on my dogs when I'm not at home.

Fun and useful device
The Echo Show 8 has so mary features - weather, news, scheduling, music, games, recipes, home automation, and more. You can listen to Spotify, Amazon Music, Sirius and the sound quality is great. You can also watch videos and Hulu. I keep mine at my WFH desk and its been so handy and fun.

Easy to install must have for everyone
This is an easy gift for the holidays. My mother in law will be receiving one of these she was in love with ours. It is easy for her to make video calls. I love to use mine while cooking playing music.

It's like having a personal assistant.
The echo 8 is easy to use. One plug sets it up. You set up your account, link it to your Amazon prime account in 3 minutes, it's ready. Great for shopping lists, household management, and much more. Everyone should have one to make their lives easier.
