Nightmare
Absolutely the worst build ever. Instructions in the booklet are horrible. The colors in the booklet are all brown and you need a flashlight to distinguish pieces. Not sure if I will finish this tree as I can't figure it out. Basically just kinda making it work

This set is a masterpiece
As one of LEGO's first botanicals, the bonsai tree is still one of their best. I've had it for two years now, and it still makes me happy every time I look at it. While pretty repetitive, the build was still interesting, and the final tree is stunning. Despite its intricacy, it is still structurally sound, and the two foliage types are a fun bonus. The pink leaves are m...

very pretty build. however. absolute ragebait to put together. there are. 101 tiny pink frogs. that need to be painstakingly placed. meanwhile the tree is busy falling apart and the random loose pieces serving as gravel are going everywhere. but who cares its pink and aesthetic.

Amazing Lego it's so fun to build. It's so cool because we watch karate kid and it's just like from the movie which is so amazing.

Poor Instructions
Gorgeous concept & building the base/stand was good and fun. However, there are a number of steps where the pictures are incorrect or unclear. The end result is okay. Sadly, it was a disappointing build.

The starter for a collection on Asia travel
I had the opportunity to live in Japan and travel through parts of Asia, and during my travels I collected a number of display pieces and currency [that I framed]. When I began building botanicals few years ago, the first set I actually put together was the bonsai tree and it was through this set that I discovered enjoyment and something therapeutic about assembling the...

The tree is a good build and I like how you can change the branches. However, if the lighting on the book was clearer, then it would be better

This is THE LEGO SET EVER!
Probably being biased but I LOVE this set soo much and it’s incredibly iconic. Building experience was really fun and the changing leaves is a really cool feature!

This Lego set came in good condition and building the set was fairly easy besides that some of the steps do get repetitive but overall it was a fun build and looks great

A lot of brown
I'm sure others found this a good build but for me the to much brown made reading instructions a bit difficult. I also for the set to be a bit flimsy and would fall apart pretty easy.

For the price it is, it really is worth it. Takes a decent amount of time but it's very fun to build. I felt I got my moneys worth.

Decent product
Builds pretty cool did it with my wife some of the pieces confused the crap out of us made it so time consuming also lego needs to learn how to seperate their pieces small with big because the hardest part of this whole thing was finding the right piece

It constantly breaks
I have now rebuilt this lego set 5 times, I love lego and was super excited for this build but amongst building it every time I get to the final part it crumbles and I have to start all over again, and the 200 loose lego studs constantly get lost. This set is a beautiful display piece and I love it in my home when I can get it to stay standing

Response from Staples :
It must be frustrating to get to the last step of a build to have it crumble. Your Bonsai Tree should be stable and shouldn't fall apart at the last step. If you'd like a hand troubleshooting, give us a call or chat at LEGO.build/Service-BV.

Bonsai tree
This build is not very stable. We have had to rebuild it multiple times. It is very cute though. We might try the mini bonsai set instead.

Lovely build
I built this to inspire me to be more peaceful. It lives in my classroom behind my desk. I have a cherry blossom light cover for extra ambiance. And my Ahsoka Tano and R2-D2 figures fit perfectly.

Average build
The bonsai tree is great to start, has you get to the branches the trunk starts to break and fall to bits. Not a good model and so many small pieces not to lose.
