Won't work on updated firmware
Bought this 10/1/2025, let the ink run out on my 9021 HP printer uses 962 carts. Install, wont print. On the inner plastic packaging, it says "Alert! Keep you cartridge working by disabling automatic firmware updates" Nothing about this on the website or even the outside of the package. Staples has always been good about this kind of problem, but its a nuisance.

the cartridge was defective we had to buy another cartridge. We have used Staples cartridges before and had never had that problem.

It doesn't work on hp printer
I installed the cartridge and my printer refuses to print saying it is not an hp cartridge. The info on the staples ink says it will work.

Does not work with my printer
I managed to get the color cartridges to work in my 9010 printer but it would not show the ink levels. However when I installed the black cartridge it was completely rejected by the printer. Not buying these again.

When I installed it in my HP 9020 printer I received the following message: The indicated cartridges have been blocked by the printer because they contain a non-HP chip. This printer is intended to work only with new or reused cartridges that have a new or reused HP chip.”

The description states these remanufactured ink cartridges will work with HP 962xl and they in fact do not. We've wasted all the ink we've purchased because we get a non-compatibility warning on our printer stating non-HP chip detected.

Works but the jury is still out
For remanufactured I expected an exact fit - like a new original part. The cartridge is working but did not engage like a new part when I inserted it into the cartridge tray.
