Very Versatile Machine
I have returned to sewing in late middle age, and this is the first sewing machine I have owned since high school. I (foolishly went through 3 of these in a matter of several weeks. I should have just returned the first one and been done but I’ve never had an issue with Brother prior to this so it was hard to believe! One machine got stuck in reverse within a week of using it. Bought machine to use for Dress a Girl workshop, it is easier to carry then my other machine. Im starting to get used to it. Wish the walking foot wasnt bulky and was smaller. Sews really nice

I like this machine. However, that bobbin is not easy to use. If you don't put it in exactly the way it should go your stitch is a mess. It can be very frustrating. I don't know why the manufacturers can't make an easier bobbin.

Thick Fabric sewing problems
I have a hard time getting this machine to sew. It doesn't want to star or move forward to sew. Then, I used the Walking Foot the other day for thick fabric, and I had to push it through. Nice Machine and price
Easy to use and works great. Quilting a T-shirt Blanket, no problems sewing through multiple layers. Love Brother sewing machines, this is the second one that I have owned. I bought one through Fingerhut 46 years ago, it still works fine and I am keeping it. I wanted a new one for the newer technology, threading and stitches. Great machines.

Lasted a year
A basic machine, for a beginner, or someone seldom sewing..only lasted about a year. Real sewists thumb their noses at it.

Great inexpensive machine with everything you need
I wanted a machine that was solid and mechanical. My first machine at 13 years old was a brother machine. It cost about $80.
I used that machine for 50 years but it is too heavy now to pick up onto a table. After that I bought an electronic sewing embroidery machine and it cost a fortune, but was not a workhorse for sewing. That is why I went back to a Brother machine....

Good, with some reservations
I had a 40+ year old Pfaff I needed to replace and wanted something simple for mending, hemming, etc. I did a lot of research and chose this Brother machine after reading a lot of reviews. Perfect Brother Model
For apparel sewing this Brother model is perfect. I used to quilt but now enjoy creating clothes even more. This model has more than enough stitch options to satisfy!

Wonder, Easy to use, great for beginners.
This is a wonderful sewing machine. It is very easy to use.
The instructions for threading the machine are very clear and the guides on the machine are very helpful. It is very easy to change the presser foot.

I Tell my students-DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE!
Unreliable. I bought 9 of these machines to teach sewing classes. I spend more time troubleshooting than sewing with my students. They are cheaply made. Thread tangles a lot. Self threader is too difficult to use especially for my older and very young students. Screwdriver is laughable and too small to be useful. Tension is a constant problem. No spool top holders incl...
