Love the new Wifi 7 router (replaced a RT-AX88U Pro that replaced a RT-AC3100) and the AsusWRT Merlin support.

I’ve been using ASUS routers since 2017 and have never had any issues. I especially like the 88U series for its eight Ethernet ports, along with its excellent coverage and performance.

A powerful router with great security
The setup of my Asus 88u router went well with the only hiccup was finding the NAT passthrough for my server. There are two separate places in the menu; one for ip6 and the other for ip4.

Experience with RT-BE88U
Straighforward to configure and performance is very good. Much more obscure to setup multiple SSID's than older units. Configuring the "table" for the MAC to IP assignments used by the DHCP server is nearly impossible for more than a handful of mappings.

RT-BE88U - It just works!
Great router. User friendly UI with a deep feature set. Highly configurable to get things working the the way you need it. 10x the features at half the price of the top of the line Nighthawk.

Best one I have owned so far.
So far so good. I'd love the fact that I had saved settigns from a previous ASUS router and was able to restore it in a few minutes. It saved me a lot of time reconfiguring the new unit.

So far, so good
This was a replacement for an older ASUS router. Saving the configuration files and loading on the new router was easy. I liked the ability to have more Ethernet ports and the use of SFP for my 10GE LAN connection

Not really the upgrade I was looking for.
This wifi router is in with the WIFI7 stuff, last time I looked. It doesn't have the 6Ghz frequency that is the new frequency for WiFi7, so I'm not sure I really got an upgrade from my previous Asus RT-AX3000. Both have 2.5Fhz and 5 Ghz and maybe the new one has more WiFi sharing technology for the existing frequency methods/technology but it leaves me a generation be...

This router does support WIFI-7, you can access WIFI-7 inside the router's settings, locate for wireless settings and enable WIFI-7 mode, or 6GHz band.
