Easy to use--accurate.
I've lived with my Fenix 8 for about 8 months now. It's proven to be easy to use and has some great, "didn't know I'd use that" features like the flashlight and find my phone chime.

Not happy
I've been purchasing Garmin watches for 5 years, and they keep taking things away that matter. I loved Garmin express I could use on my MacBook to download apps and watch faces to my watch but they decided to take that option away and make us use ConnectIQ on our phones which isn't as good, it doesn't show all the watch faces like Garmin Express does. I don't think I'll...

Feature packed watch
This is an amazing watch with many advanced features. I would highly recommend it based on the longevity of the battery, brightness of the screen and user interface to anyone looking for an industry leading smartwatch.

Great but probably the last
The Garmin Fenix 8 is a top-tier sports smartwatch. However, extremely high price and requirement of a paid subscription to unlock advanced features.
Now I'm facing a problem that my watch just disappear from my garmin connect app and I need to restart the pair process (and product registration).
In general, it's good but you always will question if it worth.

Great features, missing faces
I am happy with the watch except there is only one watch face available. All other faces have to be purchased. This is a huge setback for Garmin.

Excellent
After using an Apple Watch for over a decade, I like this one. My Apple Watch's ability to monitor my pulse rate when working out is always a challenge for me.The Garmin watch has now resolved the issue.Additionally, the run's accuracy is superior to that of the Apple Watch.I also enjoy the statistics on the watch and the Garmin Connect after working out.

Impossible - like everything Garmin
Nothing intuitive. Despite having kayaking as a sport, Garmin chat said no navigational charts can be used wit it. Trying to locate LiveTrack on my phone (Garmin Connect) each time required such a search that I usually gave up. This is my fourth Garmin product and not one is easy to use. Very disappointed.

Way Too Pricey
Long time Apple Watch User, figured to give it a fair trial. Definitely have few nice niche fitness features, however its way too much of steep price difference. There is just no way for me to justify the price difference between the Apple Ultra. If they were at the same price point, than I can forgo some of the Apple integration I missed but for me it was not worth it.

Dependable, rugged, life saving
I got this shortly after it's release in October of 2024. I have worn it everyday since buying it. I've gotten many compliments on it. The features alone are worth it. This watch actually helped save my life. I use the GPS tracking for dirt bike rides daily. I've had multiple close calls on my bike, but this watch was able to provide help to me from the gps, flashlight,...

Great watch overall, but recurring sensor dropouts
I really like the Fenix 8 overall — the display, features, training metrics and daily insights are excellent.
However, I’m disappointed with recurring sensor connection dropouts, especially during indoor cycling workouts.
My setup is entirely within the Garmin ecosystem: Tacx Flow Smart trainer, Garmin HRM, cadence and speed sensors. Using the same setup and envir...

Long-time Garmin customer.
I have been a long-time Garmin customer with many watches going back to the Fenix 3. I have been happy with all, and now that I have both Enduro 3 and the Fenix 8. Both watches are excellent, and I use them at various times for my daily needs. However, the Fenix 8 offers the most capabilities for what I hoped a smartwatch would be during my daily use. The AMOLED is exce...

Awesome Features not just a watch.
I got this as a gift about 3 weeks ago. NI really love it. I also have a Fenix3 HR, but is one takes it to the top of the hill. So many more features.

Transitioning from Samsung smart watch
I have had Fenix 8 for about 3 weeks. I have noticed the differences from a watch that is dependent on the phone and the Garmin which is like a stand alone (it does not need a phone all the time). I do wish Garmin would have some settings like tell me when I have walked away from my phone or that the focus/dnd & alarms modes work together, but they don't. Maybe one day ...

Awesome watch!
This is an absolutely awesome watch! However it still has several bugs, and probably for some people is overpriced. I had a high-end competitor's smart watch that accomplished three quarters of the amount that this watch is capable of doing, but was significantly less money. What this watch does extremely well and puts it way above its competitors, is its superior batt...

Complicated
The watch is fantastic but there are so many features it's very difficult to navigate and Garmin does not provide a user manual. So you are on your own to learn how to use all of the features.

Out of the ashes comes the Fenix
I use the watch primarily for MTBing. I do walk daily and recently have used it to scuba dive. The display was bright and easy to read underwater, the compass was very nice and the alarm for ascending too fast was audible and visually awesome. If you are an outdoors or underwater enthusiast it is a happy blend of features.

Great watch, but software glitches from updates.
Love the Fenix 8. Have used Garmin watches forever and all of the Fenix models. This one was pretty flawless when I got it. Then a software update broke Pace-Pro for racing. You would start a race and the ahead/behind would just freeze. All that changed was a software update. Then I had the same issue with the heart-rate monitor. Worked great forever, then an upd...
