Fenix 8 defective out of the box
Out of the box the down button didn’t work. Made sure to do all the software updates and a few restarts. Then found that this is a pretty common problem and to add a calibration file. Did that and still no luck fixing the button. Watches this expensive should not have this many defects.

A little disappointed
I am coming from the Garmin Epix Pro 2. The display is much better however, the wrist tracking of heart rate is not as good. I know the best way to track. The heart rate is a chest strap, but the Epix was very good at tracking heart rate via wrist. It was a little disappointing to find out the Fenix it’s not as good

A great watch with Shxxxx controls and UI.
Amazing functions / Golf / Running/ Exercise/Biking - all good individually. Together it is a hot mess. You really need to understand how to navigate the watch. Not intuitive.
Too many buttons - screens - Remove some buttons - you don't need different buttons to do same functions - and touch screen to do same functions. Can't have 3 apps to manage a watch. SIMPLIFY ...

Awesome features!
I had a Fenix 5 which I purchased several years ago. Decided to upgrade when I found out I could use my HSA funds. This watch is a definite upgrade from my old one. The screen/display is amazing! Much crisper than my old one. The sensors are much improved. I had to use a chest heart rate monitor to get accurate readings with strength training exercises with the old one....

Lots of optionality and simplicity in training
love the watch. Once I began to understand the features, it has really helped my training. Only complaint is I wish it came with a quick use guide. It would have made my start up time faster.

So much to do I can't figure it all out!
I have had the Fenix 8 47" for a bit over a month. I have been using it for goldong, walks and strength workouts. I can't wait to go hiking and running with this watch. It does everything! The memory storage is unreal. The light on the watch is a nice extra. I have used it several times at hotels and outdoors in the dark. The battery lasts about 15 days in watch mode...

Holy Cow the features!!
I just upgraded to the Garmin fēnix® 8, and let’s be honest: I am now wearing a supercomputer on my wrist that is roughly 400% smarter than I am.
The Good News: The AMOLED screen is so crisp I can see my stress levels rising in 4K during the Saturday morning rush. I used the built-in flashlight last night and accidentally guided a commercial flight into Grand Rapids. ...

Great addition to my health tracking!
I've been looking for a new smartwatch for quite some time and finally pulled the trigger in late 2025. I've thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the health, activity, sleep tracking and very much looking forward to getting out on the golf course to test the golf features of the Fenix 8.

Not bad, but needs tweaks
I’ve had some variation of the Fenix 8 for about 2 years now (keep swapping between solar and AMOLED). While it’s a great fitness tracker and the UI update is nice the responsiveness of the AMOLED model is lacking. Feels like I’m waiting for it load or finish thinking before it does something.

Still figuring it out...
Very bright screen makes reading it anywhere very easy. Some differences with the Fenix 7 I like, some I don't. The phone sound and mic are very good - good enough to rely on. Trying to download topographic maps however, seems to take many hours - after 6 hours, I'm still only 40% there. Had a mysterious freeze of the screen already, but a soft reboot seems to have solv...

Overall great watch
I prefer MIP with solar better than amold since I run outside a lot and the display and battery life is worse than Fenix 7 pro I had before so please bring back MIP solar display in the next generation. Thanks!

Good watch, but feel outdated.
The watch is good overall but feels old, like it is not from recent years. It is laggy and slow; the buttons are super hard and stick a bit.
Good autonomy.

Basics Fail
The one and only thing every single smart watch must get right - heart rate monitor. This thing is awful, even after wearing it the way they demand to get an accurate heart rate. It reads really high before I even work out. Then really low when I’m panting. Unacceptable.

Fantastic Display and Features
I haven't had time to explore all the features and widgets since there are so many, but the Amoled scree and the touch screen are a huge improvement from my last Fenix. The watch is great and I would highly recommend it.

Nice watch
Lots of features but coming from and Apple watch I’m still trying to figure it out. I wish it had a CrossFit and other option for activities. Don’t think there’s one for stationary bike either l, but like I said I’m still trying to figure it out. Wish it would auto detect sleep also.
