Superior Packing Tape
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the Scotch packaging tape to send pacages. The packaging tapes that were used in the past were not as good as Scotch. I will always use Scotch tapes for all my taping projects.

Won't stay stuck to my cardboard boxes
I bought some moving boxes and this tape to pack up some of my household stuff. The tape seems sticky but then just pops off the the boxes especially when you move them. If I had bought cheap tape, I'd expect this but I thought I was buying a quality product from a good name brand. Tape keeps shredding
I bought a dispenser of Scotch Packaging Tape, 84.2 Yards. It was fine for about 12 inches. After that, the tape kept shredding, a thin section constantly separated from the tape. It was as bad as the worst brand X packaging tape I ever bought. Never expected Scotch to sell such a sub-standard tape. After I get my holiday packages taped, I will toss the rest of the tape...

Won’t stick!
Very frustrated. We are packing moving boxes and the tape is not sticking to the new cardboard boxes at all! What happened to the quality? We have used this tape for years without issues.

packing tape
I have used this tape many times for mailing packages and many times have had the frustration of the end sticking to the roll. When trying to find the end this time it rendered the roll useless. I threw it away.
There has to be a better way.

TAPE NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE
Been using this stuff forever now, it appears to be brittle. Little pieces end up on my fingers while using a Scotch Tape Dispenser. Not a fan anymore.

used to be great tape
Background: worked for a company that did a lot of work for 3M and the shipping tape was the only tape to use. Now tape is worthless, doesn't stick to cardboard. Press on box and tape released leaving box open. Have to wrap it around the box like stretch wrap.

Just doesn’t stick like it used to.
We recently used several rolls of packaging and shipping tape in a move. The tape just doesn’t stick like it did in the past. Disappointing!

Impossible to start
Why don't you make it easier for the customer to get the tape started. Don't you realize there are a lot of seniors, etc. who don't have FINGERNAILS to scrape the tape off the roll. You're a packaging company; you should make it easy to use your product!

Difficult to start
I bought 4 rolls. When I attempted to remove the "caution" cardboard thing covering the blade at the performation if left about a 1/4 inch of cardboard over the tape. I finally called 3M and learned to just cut that back to the blade. Then learned the tape DOES NOT go through anything near the blade. On the box it says pull the tape "through the tabs". Challenge to get Started
I have purchased this tape for sealing boxes many times. It never gets easier to get it started. First, the little cardboard tab must be removed. If one pulls on it the larger part tears off but the smaller part tucked into the red plastic tabs stays put. We did consider the "Scotch" brand to be best tape
We buy this tape every so often to seal product boxes for shipment. We buy product #3650. I know that tape is ridiculously high priced now, but I worry about the sticking power. 20X Tape Will Not Stick
I bought a roll of Scotch Shipping Packaging Tape that is useless because it won't stick to anything. This roll is labeled 20X stronger. I then bought another roll labeled 40X stronger, which works fine.

Doesn't stick
This is the worst tape I have ever used. I recently moved and over 80% of my boxed popped open because this tape DOES NOT STICK.

Thinner than it ever was before
