I love everything about this. It essentially destroyed the whole purpose of the usc one but this one is way better value for your dollar

Awful Value for Price
$200 is an extravagant price for this set. As of writing this (March 1st 2024) this set costs $100 USD, which is equal to $153 AUD. I have no idea where Lego think the extra $47 AUD comes from to justify the price jump. Such a good set!
I got this set as a birthday gift and I absolutely adore it! It’s a fun build with good customization and absolutely worth it whether for yourself or another person!

Fun & Easy
R2’s moveable head is so cool! I think even below 9 years old can build this set with proper guidance. Good for kids & kids at heart, especially for Star Wars fan. I think the only thing I didn’t like was the Lego piece 302026 in step 6, which I felt unneccesary.

Fun build
Very enjoyable build. Having the pieces spread out across 12 bags was ideal for a multi day build with my son. He doesn’t like to build for more than 30-45 minute sessions and this set was easy to keep organized and the instructions were split into sub assemblies that made it feel easy to tackle.

Good and fun build
had fun building,finished in one sitting the stickers were annoying though.good play features considering it is mainly for display.

good but missing pieces :(
Got part way through the build and noticed that i had the wrong pieces. Was given two pieces that were 2x4 when the book said i should have 2x3. sad that i have to wait to finish my build. although I love the build. also noticed I had a sticker missing as soon as I opened the box.

I love the size of this set compared to the bigger one. It’s the perfect size for display and comes with an exclusive minifigure. Great as a gift or a treat for yourself

Good set, much cheaper Smyths, Argos & John Lewis
Bought as a present for my grandson. Whilst he was absolutely delighted with R2 D2 there is a catch.
My fault for not shopping around. You can save yourself in the region of £22 if purchased at John Lewis, Argos or Smyths therefore I have marked the review down, not for the model but for Lego not being competitive.
I have also given myself a good telling off 😂

Really grows on you once displayed!
I'll be honest; when I first completed building this latest version of everyone's favourite astromech droid, I was a little underwhelmed. It's small - a lot smaller than I was expecting, even after checking all the specifications and measurements before purchasing. But once on display, it's really grown on me as a highly-detailed and visually-pleasing build.
