Not worth $430
This price feels like LEGO testing us to see how many customers are willing to pay to justify higher costs for future sets. The set looks good but the motorized functions take forever to move. The price is not in line with other sets with similar piece counts or motors/hubs. Disappointing.

No way this set is almost $500 to not be remote controlled, have countless missing pieces, horrible functionality and terrible instructions. My expectations after the liebherr 13000 were high especially with this costing nearly the same just to get let down. I never leave poor reviews but this couldn’t be more frustrating

Was expecting more + a missing part...
For the price I paid, I was expecting more. While the functionality that is there is nicely situated in a control panel and the gearing is always fascinating to witness during the build, I must agree with other reviewers that the lack of mobility and no function for swinging the arm was a real minus. Just one medium sized motor?? And the functions are so slow as to make...

A Colossal Waste of Money Laughable Functions
Avid Lego collector for many years over 50 technic sets. Who set the price on this and what were they thinking? The fact that you have to manually drive and turn the arm is laughable. One motor set for $500 with no playability and a hilariously slow arm boom are examples of not knowing your customers. Please go back to 42114 or 8043 or ideally the Liebherr 9800 or CAT b...

Glad I read the reviews first
I'll admit I haven't got this set, however, that's due to all the 1 star reviews highlighting the poor value for money. Lego, please take all the feedback into account for future sets. Don't lose adult fans because of prices, which are increasing whilst quality of the products is reducing. There are lots of 2nd sets and Lego out there which offer far, far better value t...

Nice build
I have read the reviews and decided ti buy something else. But realty changed my mind at the lego shop!
I believe it is a great kit, made me get to into the crane theme of LEGO. Currently looking to find more motorised kits to build!
It needs a certain skill to build though!

Good build, I am into construction vehicles and I have added it to my collection. Could be better if it was app controlled. I would recommend it

A straightforward and enjoyable build
An enjoyable and easy build.
Slightly disappointed that the movement of the arm is very slow - I would have expected the movements to have been slightly quicker.
Also disappointed that the tracks were not powered.
Still, a handsome model, though!

Was thinking about buying this before I read all the poor reviews. Thanks you for saving me a ton of money 💰 🙏🏽. Past annual flagship Lego sets were so much better than this. What happened, Lego?

Way too expensive!
This set is way too expensive! For the number of pieces and only one motor, it should have been a lot cheaper. Something I have noticed with LEGO is that if a set is marketed as 18+ (as this one is), you can expect to have to pay a lot more for it than if was for a below 18 age group. Why should we be paying more for LEGO just because a set is aimed at adults specifical...

Not the best
Was really looking forward to this build as Lego Technic don’t come around enough, to say I was disappointed is a understatement, not good value for money, was expecting full app control for the price of the set, maybe should have researched before buying as I might have not purchased, so please Lego bring out another build vehicle soon but with full motorised actions, ...

Disappointed
Even though I thought the price was high at A$599.99 I believed in Lego and I pre ordered the 42215 Volvo EC500 without checking the details as I trusted Lego after having purchased in excess of 160 sets and always been happy with the purchases, but with the 42215 I will be very careful before I purchase from Lego.
I should have waited as these 42215 sets will be heavil...

Why you let me down, my dear Lego
I bought every Lego Technic flagship construction vehicle since 2011. The first one was 8043 excavator. 14 years later, we are here - half baked set, with functions barely working for price which is impossible to justify. I love construction sets, I display them. Dear Lego, I regret the purchase for the first time. I feel embarrassed by the fact that I spent so much mon...

Leaves wanting for more
I bought this as a pre-order after passing over a few others options which had average reviews. Now, I wish I waited as my experience is much like others. I do like the excavator but the overall cost for the set troubles me. It was too easy and too quick to build with mediocre functionality. Perhaps Lego would consider a remote control function for an item at this value...

Missed opportunity, Lego
I was beyond excited when I heard Lego was going to be releasing a new excavator – a Volvo too! Since the Liebherr, we haven’t seen a proper excavator, and certainly not a standard once in at least a decade.
I’ll be honest… that excitement has fallen into straight disappointment.
The lack of functionality (remote-control OR manually-operated) is by far the biggest le...

Corporate Greed
This is without a big letdown and insult to the Technic brand. $430 for excruciatingly slow functionality is not worth it at all. Comparing it to the 8043 and 42100 makes the 42215 look like an embarrassment.

Disappointing
This is a huge let down, especially after building the LR13000 I feel like Lego could have done much better with an excavator set. It's not nearly worth the price tag and the functionality of the set is just a disappointment
