I've had this Garmin Approach S44 for a month now. I've played up to 7 different courses in 2 different states and had no issues with the watch immediately finding my course. I bought this watch as I was upgrading from my previous Garmin. I would say this watch is VERY,VERY hard to use. I give an F+.

Size is a factor.
I purchased this and as a woman I thought that the smaller 42mm would be fine. It really is BUT since I have a 47mm Forerunner and Fenix 8, this watch felt very small. I will keep this as it does cover all the golf basics but I have now also purchased the S70 to replace it. I should have known better. Very Accurate
I follow the S44 yardages religiously and they always prove accurate. Sometimes difficult to page through various screens, but I'm getting the hang of it.

The directions are just ok. Nothing to be exited about. Wish they had a quick start with simple instructions on getting up to speed but nope, some MIT grad designed the instruction portion

More features!
Has more features than the Approach 12 I was using. I like that it sends me messages and notifications from my iPhone. It also shows how many steps I’ve taken. It would be nice to have it provide heart rate, blood pressure and blood oxygen.

Very nice GPS
Pretty easy to use. Screen is easy to see. The touch screen is not very sensitive. Hard to navigate .

Great upgrade!
Purchased the S-44 after years of the S-12 watch. Out of the box you can tell it's an upgrade. The functions are easy to use and the battery life can't be beat.

Decent
Hole map is small. Hard to get accurate distances when tapping it. Big fingers don't help. Other features are pretty good.

Many functions!
I am very happy with the watch and everything that it does for me. However I wish for that amount of money that I spent there should have been an instruction book included. I do not know how to use some of the features.

Easy to use
I am still learning all the functions and features of the watch. I have watched the videos a few times and learn something each time. I love the ability to move the pin placement. For now, I am holding off on the Garmin subscription until I learn more of the basic features and for springtime.

Great battery life
I bought this on the black friday sale. Although I haven't used it for golf yet, I'm in New England so I might get to use it once or twice between now and spring. I think it is easier to use than the S42 and the battery lasts a lot longer. I honestly cant wait for spring.
