Super sharp
I switched from Nikon to canon for the quality and features of the EOS r5 of course the legendary glass. Glad I did!

Fantastic lens
A wonderfully sharp lens that can be used wide open for one shot Milky Way photos.

My new favorite lens of all time
Was between this and the 50mm 1.2 for mostly cars and pet/people portraits. Very happy I chose the 85mm. The RF 70-200 was previously my favorite lens and I never imagined this would blow it out of the water. Everything looks incredible through this glass. People, cars, animals, you name it. Insanely sharp even wide open at f1.2. Dreamy bokeh, amazing colors, and fantas...

Stunning and sharp
Incredible lens! I regreat going cheap and getting the 2.0, even though that lens are alright, this one is next level. I never though I’d shoot at 1.2 but here I am! All day long! It’s heavy but so worth it! I wish I got this lens before! Just buy it! I use a lot my 28 70 and though that the 85 wounds be a big difference from the 70 mm but it is! It’s amazing

I'm so pleased that I went with this lens. Nevermind the price because it'll pay for itself in the long run.

$$$$$
All I smell when I take this lens out is money. Before and during the purchase all I thought about was the cost. But now that I own it, all I think about is how much money this beauty is bringing in. Before switching to mirrorless I was more partial to the EF 50mm f1.2 and EF 135mm f2. Now I have found my favorite RF lens. Yes, I know the bokeh is beautiful. But that a...

It's Magical ***
For the Zillion dollars it cost, it should be magical. Guess What? IT IS. The focus along with the shallow depth of field makes you a 9th degree photographer. I am blown away. Not to get too dramatic but I think it is the smooth drop off from the target toward the out of focus area. Yea, I know---bokeh, but it's more than that. Big $$$ and Big results!!

Amazing bokeh
This is an amazing lens! Super sharp and beautiful bokeh. It’s very fast too. Only downside is that it’s super heavy!

Stunning but heavy
Stunning results particularly when paired with an "R" body with image stabilization and dual pixel eye focus. A professional tool intended for professionals. Professionals that work out. It's dreadfully heavy. But it's worth it. Portraiture becomes child's play.

Images are worth price, weight, and size
85mm is one of my favorite focal lengths and what I use most often to make portraits. Autofocus performance, colors, contrast, sharpness, and ability to blur the background make for an exceptional package. Worth the price, weight, and size.
