Affordable, fast, fun!

Everybody knows about the nifty fifty! It's a wonderfully small prime lens that has a fast aperture for a cheap price. The STM variant does seems quite a bit better from the previous version. An excellent thrifty fifty that is fast light and solidly built. There’s no image stabilization but with f1.8 I find that there is no need. Good pricing at staples as well

Packs a Punch for the Price!

Listen. Buy this lens. It is so cheap compared to the other Canon lens and you can get stunning pictures with it. Stunning. At the price point and for what you can achieve with this lens, I would highly recommend adding this to your camera bag.

Great lens

This is a great lens for anyone who wants to start with. It is very affordable and high quality. The only downside is that it doesn’t focus fast enough for continuous shooting, bu that is the only downside.

Quality Lens!

Works great, loud focus ring and tight connection

I needed a camera with a large aperture for practicing photography in dark city scenes. This works great at f/1.8, and the bokeh looks great. When the lens focuses, either automatically or manually, it's quite loud. I read that in some other reviews too, and they were quite serious. I thought "it can't be that bad", but it's quite noticeable.

The cheapest but yet the best

The nifty fifty is the one of the most popular lens on the market. It is also one of the cheapest and yet, the quality is here. It provides sharp photo with a crazy bokeh at low aperture.
