Horrible yield!
So very disappointed in Brother! We've always purchased HP printers and because we're retired we thought we'd try Brother. What a huge mistake! Our yield on our first toner cartridge was a whopping 550 instead of the promised 1200 that was quoted. That is why we purchased this printer. This is the Land Rover of printers, well worth the price for its easy and reliable use.
No frills, mine is a B&W edition, cartridge supplied ink will keep you from taking out an equity loan to keep up with otherwise exorbitant inkjet costs.

Scammy ink, decent printer
This printer prints well, HOWEVER...my "1200 page" genuine Brother toner cartridge only printed 452 single-sided pages (per the report from the printer itself). I understand that there will be some variance in number of pages promised based on density text/image printed, but that's almost 1/3 of what was advertised, and I'm not printing images.
