Incandescent desklamp
Actually I don't use it as a desk lamp. I clip it on to my head board and use it as a bed lamp.

Disappointed
The item looks very nice and I ended up buying two. Unfortunately the knob on the back of the lamp which is used to turn the lamp on is made of poorly constructed material and breaks very easily. Both of my lamps were broken and unusable within a week after purchase. I would not recommend this item.

Exactly the lamp I needed
To label this as an "incandescent" desk lamp gives it an incomplete name. You can use any Type A bulb whether incandescent CFL or LED. I'm using an LED bulb. I did not want a lamp with embedded LEDs because if they stop working I have to replace the whole lamp instead of just the bulb. GREAT OVERHEAD LAMP
Love the light. Looks nice and very effective. Great price. Easy ordering and picking up at store. Would order another if I find I need another overhead light.

Product was purchased to be clipped to the bookshelf on my desk to illuminate the work surface. It could not adjust to provide that illumination. The rigid base of the gooseneck directed light into the bookshelf whether the lamp was clipped to a shelf or to the side of the bookcase. Practical and Attractive
I ha a similar lamp but it finally stopped working after over 10 years. This replacement is just what I wanted.
