My girls loved this toy!!1
I have two girls, age 5 and 2-they both loved the acorn set. My 5 y/o loves matching the items to the letter acorns. My 2 y/o enjoys opening the acorns and putting the toys inside. They will play together w/this set for at least an hour every time! If you are looking for an educational toy that captivates little ones, this is for you!

sad experience
The concept of the Alphabet Acorns is good. However, it was missing 2 items when I received it. I have contacted LR twice over the past year but have been ignored. I expected better service from LR.

Acorn alphabet hunt with writing
The kids absolutely love searching for the acorns or opening them to see what is inside. I then have them write the name of the object that was inside. They are enjoying the activity

Makes Learning the Alphabet Fun!
My four year old grandson is learning his letters, so this is a fun way to help him learn. He loves to put the little objects in the acorns and put the top on, which I didn't think were too difficult to snap on. I like that you can put other small objects in the acorns to keep it interesting.

A fun way to learn letters, sounds and colours.
This is a real hit! A child that loves to sort, order , play and match would love this activity.

Caution on quality of product
We were so excited for this item to enhance our education and alphabet learning. However, one of the lids did not fit on the bottom of the acorn (it was too big). Also, the pig that came with the set looked like it's head was about to fall off as the material was not joined together properly. Disappointed in the quality.

2 year old loves the surprises when he opens
My 2 year old loves the surprises inside. We hide in a sensory bin and he matches the objects with the color on top.

Fun, educational but has a error
My daughter received this from my mom as a gift. We just opened it and as she was matching she couldn't find the lower case o. We assumed she made an error and after looking through everything, she was correct. There were two lower case e tops and no lower case o top.

Some of the caps don't fit correctly.
These are really great EXCEPT the caps don't click on to a few of the acorns which frustrates my 3 year old.

Not sure if I would buy this product again
I think the concept is great. I was eager to purchase the product. The first day we used it, one of the acorns had bugs inside it! Yes, I said bugs (with an s). I think it was a cricket and a spider. The lid to the acorn was tightly on. Of course I had to wash them. Now, the lids will not go back on the acorn easily. I'm pretty disappointed.

It is well made but why is there a sailboat for the letter V
It seems that a few of the items for sorting seemed to be used because they were on hand, not because they were the best item for a kid to experience phonemically to match with a letter cue.

Wonderful Purchase For My 3 Year Old
I bought these for my 3 year old. We are working with a few of these at a time practice letter sounds and matching the toy to the correct acorn. We have also been using them to learn to spell her name. After just a few times playing with them she is now able to spell out her name by putting the acorns in the correct order. I am excited to continue using these as she is ...

We love these!!
We love this game/set! My toddler asks for it a few times a day. She started off just naming the colors, then the animals and has slowly started to get the letters as well. It is fun and educational. My only complaints is a strong rubber smell that you get used to and some of the lettering are hard to see on the brown of the acorn. Those would in no way stop us from usi...
