HP Instant Ink Printer
I am delighted with my 15-page plan print free for life HP printer. I don't print very much and my ink was always drying up. I have told many of my friends about this offer and I'm so happy I was able to get it before it went off sale. Question: did my month begin the first day I set my printer up?

Great ink is a valuable commodity. I apologize you found the product to be expensive. There are several ways to save money. Buying the XL version or value packs saves money. If you catch errors through print preview, you also save copies. Avoid keeping the printer in a dry environment.

Hello Richard,
The key to fixing this situation is understanding how large print jobs affect the printer. It might not seem like a lot, but twenty pages at a time can cause a clog. The cartridge is not empty, but the printhead cannot access the extra ink. The other potential scenario is a leak. Pushing the cartridge in too far causes leaks. Look at the inside of the printer to determine if a leak happened.

Cartridges don't last
the ink is expensive & dries up if not used frequently
I was away -- and even though the cartridges were new -- they didn't work -- the staples salesman said these ink jet cartridges need to be used weekly or the ink dries up -- very expensive for little use

Hi Laura,
The ink should last longer if you practice good printing techniques. I can show you some new methods. I am sorry the cartridge has not worked well for you. Start by doing automatic maintenance at least once a week. Afterward, take a damp cloth and gently wipe. If you print in black ink only, then you will save ink. You will also save ink by shutting off the printer frequently and decreasing the print quality settings.

Black Ink border not printing
Yes, I was having issues with my HP black ink and though the maintenance said it was good and did all kinds of printer maintenance in the end was the black ink cartridge. Now it is working excellently. Thank you.
