Why won't Canon let us see into the Inkwell?
The 5 stars are for Staples great selection and price comparable to online pricing. 1 star for the ink. The tanks run out so fast now. Just how much ink is really in there? Aftermarket ink tanks have clear ink wells, so you can see how much ink is in there, but Canons are dark black so it's anyone's guess just what's inside. not worth it
Box says 11.4ml and the regular cartridge is 5.6ml. That is not in the product detail online. There may be some fixed wastage but the arithmetic based on ink volume suggests that regular cartridge is better value!

I installed the replacement cartridge as usual, and the printer said "the cartridge cannot be recognized." I updated the drivers and that had no effect. Computer guy said "just buy a new printer." :(

Beware
The ink cartridges are very expensive and even if you never print in color (which I seldom do) they empty. I don't know where Staples got the $22.99 per cartridge - I paid $29.99! To make matters worse, the printer won't print if even one cartridge is empty!

Excellent Ink for my Canon Printer
The Canon Ink cartridge works well in my Canon printer. I have learned by experience that replacing the cartridge on time preserves the print head for many years. Hint! Change the cartridge when indicated and enjoy a printer head that lasts a very long time, years.

HP Cyan Ink Cartridge
Perfect fit for the HP printer I have. Easy to install. I've been using the regular 281 Cyan. I wanted to see if the 281 XL Cyan lasts longer.
