Did not perform as advertised
I bought this thinking it would last longer than the smaller cartridge. I got less than 30 printed pages. Office Jet Pro 8500 constantly is cleaning the printheads, etc. using up ink as if it were water.

Ink #940 price too high
the price of ink is out of control. I have an HP printer which shuts down if you are out of one color of an ink cartridge. i understand that if one color is not in the mix the color will be off, but I should be able to over-ride that on the printer. I like to use the high yield black cartridges as the black always seems to run out faster than the cyan, yellow or magenta cartridges. This way I always have black ink available and the colors run out at about the same time as the high yield cartridge. I always use HP ink as I don't trust no name refills to work correctly with my HP machine.

not uniform quality
Just changed all 4 cartridges early June, 2014. Indicators did not call for change on 3 of 4 but I was hoping that changing all at once would improve quality of copies. Changing early may not be of benefit. Cartridges had expiration date of Jan 2015. I believe changing .all at once is probably a waste of money.

I purchase this pack because I don't want to make multiple trips to get ink. This pack is perfect with the 940XL black cartridge coupled with the 3 other necessary cartridges. I often replace all 4 cartridges before having to purchase another pack.

I've used the 940XL/940 cartridges for approximately 5 years now, and I find them to be a quality product. They're easy to install into and change out of my HP printer. The used cartridges are clean to throw in the drawer until I'm ready to return them to a Staples store, and none of the cartridges have leaked.
