Love my Sharp EL-1197PIII
I have used one for many years. Now I work part time and the office just moved to a different place where I have my own desk. Bought the new one for at home and took the old one to the office. I just don't like the little hand calculators, and am happy to have the same one to use at both places.

Replacement Calculator
This new machine works quieter than my old one, but I think it is slower. Also, I don't like that I cannot see the number on the tape that I just keyed in without being right on top of the machine and looking into it.

Why the change?
Commas separating 1,000's are now located at the top of numbers rather than at the bottom where they have been since the invention of the calculator!

Great calculator
I used a Sharp calculator when I worked and I bought one when I retired. It lasted me ten years. I believe Sharp brand is one of the best. I like the big numbers easy to read. I recommend it for anyone looking for a new calculator.

desktop calculator
Nice improvements over the previous model. The green color of the display shows up well. Printing mechanism has a softer function than the older model. Great for old school folks who still appreciate such things.

An added plus to my day.
I highly recommend this calculator, my previous one lasted 20 plus years, all around workhorse, easy to maintain, lots of useful functions and I think it is just the right size, most are too small in turn reduce the button size.

Sharp EL-1197PIII 12-digit desktop calculator
Ordered this same calculator on 8/31/2024 no problem. This calculator has a detachable power cord, but the cord has slits in it as if it is cut. Not the same cord as previous calculator purchased. Cord is much thicker and not detachable. See attached pictures.
