Love my Sharp EL-1197PIII
I have used one for many years. Now I work part time and the office just moved to a different place where I have my own desk. Bought the new one for at home and took the old one to the office. I just don't like the little hand calculators, and am happy to have the same one to use at both places.

Replacement Calculator
This new machine works quieter than my old one, but I think it is slower. Also, I don't like that I cannot see the number on the tape that I just keyed in without being right on top of the machine and looking into it.

stopped working correctly
The decimal point stopped working in less than 6 months. I'm an accountant so accuracy is important.

Sharp EL Calculator
Very nice and not too confusing. Very easy to load tape. You don't have to fight to get the cover off. And the roller to put the tape on is nice and slim.

Sharp EL-1197PIII 12-Digit Desktop Calculator
This is the second one of these that I have had. It is very efficient and works great for the accounting work that I do every day. The speed is great and the size and placement of the keys make it very easy to work. I am very happy with this calculator.
