Love my Sharp EL-1197PIII
I have used one for many years. Now I work part time and the office just moved to a different place where I have my own desk. Bought the new one for at home and took the old one to the office. I just don't like the little hand calculators, and am happy to have the same one to use at both places.

Sharp EL-1197PIII 12-digit desktop calculator
Ordered this same calculator on 8/31/2024 no problem. This calculator has a detachable power cord, but the cord has slits in it as if it is cut. Not the same cord as previous calculator purchased. Cord is much thicker and not detachable. See attached pictures.

Does not automatically set decimal for cents. Have to hit period. Time consuming and very annoying

Usage
Location of and placement of operating controls are set up very good for right hand users . Key board has large keys which are wide and easy to work. We will replace this unit or the one that may replace it someday .

I have gone through a number of small calculators that eventually do not work within a year. I have 3 of these for my business and it is a workhorse, no problems.

The absolute BEST electric calculator!
In my many, many years as an office & management employee, the calculators I’ve always ordered (if allowed to!) have been Sharp electric calculators. They are so very reliable, they last for YEARS (my first home office Sharp electric calculator lasted about 15 years before it finally died!), and the key configuration makes sense to me.

disappointed
I have used this model for many years. Bought a new one and had nothing but problems, mostly the tape does not feed, it catches and now won't feed at all. Too bad, as I usually buy this one.

My similar one gave up the ghost after 23 years of yeoman service. My expectation ts that performs as well. Some tabs are in different positions but easily adapted. So far so good. Good product

Sharp EL-1197PIII 12-Digit Desktop Calculator
Went with Cannon a couple of years ago and it malfunctioned too much for me. I went back to Sharp because they are more durable and I like the keying arrangements. Works great!!!!

Great calculator
I had a similar Sharp calculator that I used daily for over 20 years. I bought several after but none were what I was accustomed to. This one is good. I can fly though my calculations
