Love my Sharp EL-1197PIII
I have used one for many years. Now I work part time and the office just moved to a different place where I have my own desk. Bought the new one for at home and took the old one to the office. I just don't like the little hand calculators, and am happy to have the same one to use at both places.

Sharp EL-1197PIII 12-digit desktop calculator
Ordered this same calculator on 8/31/2024 no problem. This calculator has a detachable power cord, but the cord has slits in it as if it is cut. Not the same cord as previous calculator purchased. Cord is much thicker and not detachable. See attached pictures.

Replacement for worn out one.
I had the same "style" but the numbers cylinder clogged up & I couldn't clearly see the numbers on the tape (blurry). Cleaning with Q-Tip/alcohol etc. didn't solve the problem so I bought a new one as close to the one I had as possible. This one fit the bill.

Two In 20 Years
My first Sharp EL printing calculator lasted almost 20 years with moderate use. It got damaged in a move, otherwise I would still have it. I bought this replacement unit and have no reason not to think it will perform for many years to come. Sharp has a well deserved reputation for a quality product.

Printing Calculator
I have been a bookkeeper for 10+ years and there is nothing like having a dependable printing calculator. I have always preferred the Sharp brand because they seem to last forever. I particularly like this model because of the date and time feature.

excellent value and performance
LOVE it. Practicing bookkeeper/tax preparer for over 25 years -- HAD to replace my old Sharp (had it for 15 years) so was hesitant to get this one, but didn't want to spend $150 + -- I'm sooooo happy with it.

great product
Have been using this same unit for years, does the job without taking up a lot of room. Great service and they use ribbon instead of those cartridges that dry out.

Does the job. Decent price
With several people using this everyday we go through adding machines pretty quick. I suppose it holds up as well as can be expected with multiple users. This is the third one we've purchased...Decent price, would probably last longer with just a single user.

Quiet and easy to use
I like the fact that it is more compact than other calculators. It doesn't take up so much space on my desk. Also, the operation is very quiet. When I am pounding away at it the sound is not traveling far outside my office and disturbing other people, which was the case with the previous, more expensive one.
