Love my Sharp EL-1197PIII
I have used one for many years. Now I work part time and the office just moved to a different place where I have my own desk. Bought the new one for at home and took the old one to the office. I just don't like the little hand calculators, and am happy to have the same one to use at both places.

Replacement Calculator
This new machine works quieter than my old one, but I think it is slower. Also, I don't like that I cannot see the number on the tape that I just keyed in without being right on top of the machine and looking into it.

Perfect for my office
This is exactly what I have been looking for. I have tried out others, but none compare. This machine is comfortable to use and it prints quickly. I can't comment on how long the ribbon lasts, I'v been using it a week, but so far it prints fine.

Exactly What I was looking for!
This calculator lasts a long time. It is replacing my older one. What
I liked is that the format of the keys have not been changed.
I recently purchased a cheaper model of Sharp and didn't notice but the control total keys have a different location making me have to look where
and what I want to formulate.

Good Product
I've used Sharp 10 keys for over 40 years. They are a reliable machine and very durable. One change that I don't like is they have incorporated the on/off switch into the paper on/off switch. I prefer separate control of each function. It saves production costs for Sharp at the inconvenience of their customers. Hence 4 stars instead of 5.

great calculator with one big flaw
This is a good calculator for desk use. It's sturdy, the 10-key is well positioned for touch typing, and the on-off switch works great, once I found it! But it needs a setting for automatic two-decimal place entry. I have to translate all totals to show the two decimal places standard in writing all dollar amounts.

Nice, but...
Most of the function keys are not located in the same place as my old calculator so I don’t like that. The only feature I like is that it does not shut off automatically.
