Poor seal
The gummed flap doesn't seal at all so you are forced to tape the envelope shut every time you use one.

I feel they are appropriate for my use. However if I was using them for mailing important documents I would want something a bit heavier.

Big enough
These envelopes were a great deal and they don't have the clasp closures that the post office dislike so much.
