HP56 black ink cartridge
As soon as a cartridge runs out, I order an extra, especially Dec. - Feb. when I'm using a lot of black ink printing X-mas letters and tax forms. I don't use a lot of ink, and I never have any problems with cartridges drying out when I'm using HP originals.

The ink cartridge that I ordered in January 2026 was shipped and received quickly. However, the back of the package notes "warranty ends May 2025". Had I known that I would be receiving an older out of warranty product, I would have purchased elsewhere for 1/3 the cost. I paid more assuming that I would be receiving a newer product. The best ink is HP ink.
I only use HP ink in my printer. Cheaper brands are exactly that, cheap quality ink that doesn't last. HP ink lasts a long time and is the best quality ink for an HP printer.

So far so good!
Since it's no longer possible to find #27 for my All-in-One 56 is marketed as compatible. I made the mistake of getting a remanufactured HP 56 cartridge and the machine refuses to accept it. Hopefully HP will continue making the 56 as it is working well. It's expensive so may opt to get a new printer soon. A waste as this one still preforms well but $50 each time ...
