Scotch Tape Gun That Isn't.
Bluntly, I wouldn't take the time to write a review on a tape gun, unless it was something special. And let me tell you, this tape gun is special. Been using tape guns almost on the daily for about 30 years, and this one has the best design ever...if your design goal was to look pretty and *not* dispense any tape whatsoever, unless you're a practitioner of the dark art...

Will not cut!
The blade would not cut the tape and would shred the tape. Currently ordering something else.

Handle is not great.
The tape dispenser works just fine. The padded handle is nice, but it's too short. It needs to be a least an inch to inch and a half longer.

The dispenser is not very user friendly. It could use some improvements as far as the cutting mechanism is concerned.

Very disappointed
We received the tape gun on the 6th of April and by the 11th it had already snapped where the part for the tape to go onto was. We were able to exchange it but it was the inconvenience of it.

I do not like the new version of this dispenser. The "Teeth" are supposed to "pop out" by pressing the dispenser upwards to release them - it is NOT easy or neat. Tape tears raggedly - if that is a word.

Won't Cut
I like that you can adjust the tension but none of that matters if the blade isn't where it needs to be to cut! Too expensive to be so useless. Tape ends up getting stuck on the metal guide and wadded up, or the box you are trying to tape gets cut instead of the tape!

Infuriating
The guard needs too much pressure to release the teeth resulting in either overexerting or pressing down at a strange angle. ALSO the tape they give you is strangely slick and thick and applies weirdly. Lastly, the metal bar keeping the tape in place near the roller often sticks to the tape. If you can jam up the guard release it works better, btw.

Doesn't seem to work well
I've yet to be able to consistently cut the tape with the way this thing works. 80% of the time I have to cut the tape manually with scissors. I'm not sure I can recommend this. The handle is nice though.

Flimsy, sticky, awful
The tension is too light and the tape slides around. This causes the tape to stick to the flat edge of the metal valve, which is incredibly adhesive. Can't unstick it without pulling the whole contraption apart and restarting. The plastic tape flap is so stiff you have to push hard to get the teeth to pop out to cut the tape. Easy to use and easy on your hands!
We've used these tape dispensers for years-- they get hard use and work very well. A little twist of the wrist and the tape cuts beautifully! I'm ordering more this week. Finally, had one wear out after approximately 15 years of daily use.
