Self seal envelopes
I don't like them. They are hard to use and actually put items inside because the side flaps are so short. It is really hard to get paperwork inside.

Needed for small business

These envelopes do not seal securely at all. They are easily peeled open, enabling tampering.

DO NOT PURCHASE! This is by far the worst Staples purchase I have ever made. I purchased 8 boxes of these and every envelope was already sealed to itself or the edges weren't sealed. We were doing a mass mailing and didn't have time to return and purchase something else. So disappointed that staples would even sell these.

I prefer a more traditional envelope. I find these difficult to seal, and I'm afraid my clients will as well.

Poor design
Not the best design, it takes more effort to put paper in these envelopes as they don't slide in easy with the extra sides that stick out and the sticky flap over the top. I would not recommend.

Not tamper proof
The seal can be opened and resealed without much notice that it was opened. To be secure, it should also break-away when opened to show tampering.

Great for mailings
I volunteer at several local non-profits. For mailings from 20 - 200 these envelopes speed up the process of stuffing and sealing. Once sealed it stays sealed. I can buy cheaper envelopes but efficiency and speed is lost. These are worth the extra cost.

Not completely self sealing
In my box all 500 envelopes are only self sealing about 60% of the way. The gummy stuff is missing on left side of envelope. Have to apply envelope adhesive to the left side.

Don't seal
We got these to save time for a large mailing. Mistake. One, because of how the envelope is folded, it is difficult to quickly open and stuff. Two, about every fifth envelope simply didn't seal like the sticky parts were too old. Find another solution for your large mailings - this was not a time saver at all.
