shoddy construction
Buy the self seal a little more money but better constructed. The bottom flap ends are not glued so you have to tape them down the corners and sometimes the whole lick strip don't seal. Staples Gummed Closure Kraft Catalog Envelopes 6x9 Brown 100/box (534693/17097)
The gummed closure was not what I thought it was going to be (one where you pull off a tape over the gum when closing the envelope). The gum needs to be wet to close but not too wet (it will not stay closed).

Excellent economy envelopes
Excellent choice for mailing half sheet or single fold documents as well as items like sets of note cards or other envelopes. Paper is a fine thickness and takes labels and stamps well. I see no reason to spend more for another product. Not having a brass clasp is a plus as well for mailing. The gummed adhesive seems to work fine although for mailing a thicker packag...

Cheaper to Mail!
I like the gummed closure rather than the clasp as it costs less to mail. The Post Office charges extra if it has a clasp because it won't run through the machine.

Great Envelope - Very Useful
The envelope is well built. It is sturdy. The edges are sealed well. The glue on these particular envelopes works very well. And the size of the envelope allows you to stay within letter size US postal dimension constraints provided you stay within weight limits as well.

Good basic envelope
This is a good choice for sturdy envelopes in this size. The flap adhesive seems fine but since we seal using packing tape this is not a concern. The price makes this an economical choice.
