NOT ALUMINUM!
This clipboard is not aluminum. I don't know what kind of metal it is, but it is PAINTED silver. Not what they advertised! Very BAD FORM.

The aluminum is very thin gauge. It's quite flexible, as much as a plastic clipboard, but at least it should be durable.
In addition, as a previous reviewer wrote, it's powdercoated and is not a raw aluminum finish.
I'm sending this one back.

nice clipboard
The aluminum is a little thinner and flexes more than I thought it would but it won't break down in moist environments like the wooden ones will.

Best low-profile clipboard we've ever use
We use clipboards a lot, and this is the best low-profile clip type we've found. The plastic ones always break within a few months of heavy use, but not this baby. Worth the extra money.

I purchased a plastic clipboard for work in my truck and it cracked after a few months! I used printer cartridges recycle rewards to pay for the new clipboard! It's stronger and I have left it in the plastic wrapping to protect it longer! Might seem a bit strange but with my job as a trucker things get dirty really quick! Does The Job
We have several of these around the office and they've served us well. The grip on the document clip is nice and firm, but easy to handle. The overall construction is sturdy enough to withstand moderate use like we put them through.

Misleading Description and Photo
The actual clipboards are not anodized aluminum as shown in the photo and description — they are powder coated light gray. Looks very cheap. We ordered 20 and have to return all of them.

Works, but isn't the best
Plastic wrap is put on before they attach the clip, making it hard to get all of it out. The material is a little thinner than other companies' (thinner aluminum; with the coating, it's about the same), and makes it a little more flexible (may not be the best thing for a clipboard). The finish looks nice, though; going to see how long it will last.

So-so
I thought these would be more of a brushed/clear anodized product. Instead there is some sort of smooth andozing/coating that detracts from the industrial look I had been seeking. It works fine, I just wouldn't have spent the extra money if I had known. Picture is a bit misleading.
