Expiration before used
I found that the cartridge has an expiration date. Because of the expiration date the printer will not work. Brand new cartridge will not work. So if you purchase back up cartridges, they may not work when you go to use them.
HP does not advertise this or notify you about this until it is too late.
It is cheaper to buy a new copier with cartridges than to replace all 6 ...

Our printer is very busy at home with school work, printing out photographs, and many other things.

The colors are vibrant.
The HP 02 inks are fine but become expensive when you must buy them separately. Some colors last longer than others.
When you need a new HP printer, the inks cartridges change. Then the remaining stock has to be thrown away.
I appreciate Staples ink reward vouchers.

Make all my own greeting cards for all occasions
Individual cartridges are so much better because when all colors are in one cartridge, not all colors run out at the same time. This wastes ink and money when you can't just replace the color you need.

Cartridge does not do any 400 pages.
When my present printer dies, I will not be able to use the rest of my present cartridges. No longer available for purchase using this style.

Ink doesn't last very long
I worry that using refills will jam up the printer, else I would try that.

Ink is OK but the Printer is a Pain
The HP Printer uses a lot of ink and you cannot print black if any of the color cartridges is empty.

I use my printer every day, printing thing with lots of graphics. I like the fact that the cartridges can be replaced individually, which does hold the cost down.
