The new shredder is awesome and I would highly recommend it. Amanda was very helpful in choosing this shredder and we received the shredder Before 8.00Am the following morning.

Not What I expected
For the price I expected a better performing shredder. The bin doesn't close correctly and the paper doesn't shred as fine as I would like which causes the bin to fill up faster. Only order this one because they were out of the Tru Red which performs way better and is cheaper.

good product
I purchased this very same model (Powershred 79Ci) in 2011 and it held until August-2025 when finally the selector switch (for on and forward/reverse running the shredder wheel) quit working -- and the cutting wheels also were becoming dull. I was very happy with the 79Ci and therefore purchased the replacement. I can highly recommend this cross cut shredder.

Excellent Product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this shredder to replace a Fellowes shredder that I had for over 20 years. She died! I looked at what was available online, but I truly believed nothing is better than a Fellowes. My last shredder proved that. LOOSE RECEPTICLE
THE BUCKET THE SHREDDED PAPER COLLECTS IN; IS VERY SENSATIVE; IF EVERY ASPECT OF THE BUCKET IS NOT TIGHTLY SECURED; THE SHREDDER ITSELF WILL NOT TURN ON

Love the shredder We had it before and it lasted a long time. The new one didn’t have the hooks to wrap the chord around and that was a disappointment

Years vs usage
I’m replacing same product due to malfunctions not shutting off after completing shredding issues with cds etc. I think the product worked great according to the specs for a whilecbut although I’ve had it a few years (10+) I didn’t use it regularly hardly ever. My last shredder was fellow and it lasted forever that is why I bought the same model again. Staples had wonderful next day delivery.

Adequate
This device performs adequately but has two negatives. First with a plastic bag inserted in the bin the bin has a difficult time activating the shredder. Second there is a protrusion in the bin that rips the plastic bag upon removal. I taped a piece of cardboard over the protrusion.

Good shredder bin placement is tough.
This shredder is quiet and works well. The only issue is that it can be hard to get the bin to go in all the way and hit the safety switch that allows the machine to operate. Another department has the same machine so I know it should "break in" over time.
