Had the opportunity to purchase a much cheaper toner cartridge for my HP laser jet printer, but chose HP because it lasts a long time.

Damaged goods
I purchased this cartridge several months ago because I didn't want to run out of ink. It turned out that I purchased it a few months too early but I thought that this was okay because I just left it in its box waiting until I did run out of ink. Wonderful little printer that works great with Vista and laptop. Hard to find replacement toner, not carried in warehouse type locations. It is easy to install and use. No need for advanced degree to run printer. Use it for scrapbooking, does not have cardstock setting on printer, need different printer for cardstock if that is primary reason for buying printer. Great toner, doesn't last long
Toner is great quality and printer is wonderful. However, the life span of the cartridge is way too short for price. Would have not bought printer had I known.

Gone Down Hill
Starting Jan 09, the toner seemed to be cut in half. I was doing the same work but replacing toner in half the time. It has continued to be this way. I feel this was a good value in 08..but not 09..yet I have no choice but to purchase it since Staples no longer offers a generic brand.

Other cartidges have a X model (larger capacity as in 36X rather than 36A)

driver should default to 300dpi, not 600. DPI setting must be updated for every session
