Cheaper 564XL
The new version of the 564XL is lower cost, but has lower capacity. I strongly dislike less capacity and wish the old cartridge was still available. Too bad the name was not changed from 564XL to 564ML. This is a good example of less is less.

HP 564 Everyday black ink
I love that I can set the printer to rough draft setting (I think that is what it is) and still have the quality printing without using as much ink. I bought the 564 black because Staples was out of the 564XL and can't believe the difference in the amount of ink I didn't get. No more compromise the XL is better deal for the money.

High Performance - Low Mileage
I don't know if it is a "gas guzzler" printer, or the cartridges have inadequate volume, but they don't last anywhere near the "up to" 250 pages claimed.

Ink glutten
This is the second time I have had to replace the black cartridge. First one was empty after 82 pages. I consider this printer a rip-off. It's the last HP printer I will buy. It is obvious from most of the other reports that the short endurance of the cartridge is much less than anticipated. HP should reduce the price to reflect this.

I would buy this product again.
The 564 has good color contrast. I would reccommend you get the 564xl because it last longer.

I use my computer for everyday (personal) use---printing articles from the web, letters I write on "Word", copying & developing pictures, etc. I am very pleased with the quality of the print but feel the life of the cartridge is much too short.

Not too happy
the printer is great..it prints at a good speed..i am just not too happy about buying ink cartriages every month....i am a fulltime student!

I use it for text documents. For photo docs I use the photo black cartridge. Usually I purchase the XL cartridges but I was able to get this one for a good price and thought I would try it. It performs as well as the XL but does not last as long.

Short term wonder
I don't print alot, and was very upset when after about one month I had to replace the cartridges. It didn't print anywhere near the 300 pages it claimed.It prints beautifully though, but not cost effective.

runs out much too quickly!
I am surprised this cartridge runs out of ink so fast. I had my printer for only a short time and have had to replace it twice in VERY little printing time.
