Cheaper 564XL
The new version of the 564XL is lower cost, but has lower capacity. I strongly dislike less capacity and wish the old cartridge was still available. Too bad the name was not changed from 564XL to 564ML. This is a good example of less is less.

Printer ink
The HP ink refills work fine. Printer is old but responds best to the HP Cartridges.

Hp 564 cartridges last for less than 30 pages
All the HP 564 cartridges I use last for less than 30 pages, even the XL cartridges. I only use the HP Photosmart 7510 printer occasionally, and must replace cartridges frequently.

We have tried using the new black ink cartridge several times. It always comes out spotty, with parts of words missing. When we print in color, the type is clearer, but still spotty. I ended up printing out the tax form and filling it in by hand so I was sure the IRS would be able to read it.

Hp ink cartridge
I was able to print 4 pages and then the black ink cartridge I purchased stopped printing. Hp alerted on my computer and said it was not a genuine hp ink cartridge, even though that is what I purchased. I'm not sure exactly what the problem was but I know I was not able to use the cartridge after successfully printing 4 pages.
