Cheaper 564XL
The new version of the 564XL is lower cost, but has lower capacity. I strongly dislike less capacity and wish the old cartridge was still available. Too bad the name was not changed from 564XL to 564ML. This is a good example of less is less.

Unfortunately would not print
Always use hp ink and love Staples. Think this was just a faulty ink. Ordered another one and will return other to store of purchase. Wish the local Staples head not closed☹️ Have to travel over 40 miles to get. Will order by mail in future!

defective cartridge?
I just bought a new 564 black cartridge, installed it, checked level -- and the copies come out blank. Repeatedly. I've tried everything, the black ink, and only the black, doesn't print.

Doesn’t fit hp printer
It is almost impossible to believe, but the HP 564 black ink cartridge is too wide to fit into the narrow slot on my HP printer. The older used cartridge (which fit) is clearly marked as HP 564. All HP 564 black cartidges(with the photo ink as an exception) do NOT fit the left hand slot in the printer’s snap in location. Do not buy this!

It is strange the cartridge didn't fit into the printer. I can guide you through some steps to see if it will fit. Start by taking out the cartridge. Reinsert it, pressing firmly until you hear a clicking sound. If it doesn't click, don't force it. Sometimes, several versions work for similar printers. If this one is incompatible, a list of good ones will be on the HP site.

Great customer service
I had received a printer and was unsure of why it had two black ink cartridges. The rep at Staples was awesome and explain to me one was a photo black. I had no idea and was trying to put in the wrong cartridge until he helped me.

Unfortunately, my printer died.
My printer is probably 8-10 years old and just died. The inks were not lasting very long. Hopefully, my new copier/printer will restore my faith in HP.

HP 564 black standard cartridge.
This was a great find, because I have been using the xl564, and before very many copies have been printed, the ink is gone or dry. When I have been paying $37+ for the xl, this is very discouraging.

Great quality
I have always received high quality cartridge. This time it was my 20 year old printer quite working. HP printers and cartridges are great for in home use and I have replaced my old unit with another HP. Now I have these new cartridges that I can't use.

I agree two weeks is not a lot of time for a new cartridge to last. Let's take a look at what is happening.
I always recommend checking that there are no leaks and that the cartridge registers on the printer as complete. Did you print photos? They use a ton of ink. Recent weather change? Ink cartridges are impacted by dry or humid weather. Did you throw out a bunch of scrap copies? That could lessen the life of the cartridge.
