A Clarification...
For all those purchasing 920XL color ink cartridges (cyan, magenta, yellow), know that the dimensions of them are exactly the same as those of the regular 920 color ink cartridges. There is simply more ink in the cartridges!

920 ink and 6500 printer
Terrible ink performance and incorrect out of ink prompts. You may get 30 prints and then the out of ink message comes on, but you will get another 200 prints so just ignore the prompt

Ink for HP 6500
I use all the colors in my new printer and have found the colors all hold up very well. The black XL seems to last a long time for average usage. I am veery satisfied with the whole outfit.

Totally bogus page counts
I use color to print photos and only an occasional color text documents. I'm even careful about selecting black&white printing for webpages. Even with all my vigilance, the 920XL series is providing an acceptable number of printed pages. The 920s are rated at 700 "pages" and I'm not getting even 50 photos out of a set of color cartridges. Cartridge life is a joke
All the color cartridges have very short life. Even if I select print "grayscale" it uses the color cartridges which I think is bogus. I've had the printer for six months and printed hundreds of pages and only replaced the black once. I'm on my fourth set of colors and I don't print much that's color/ no photos. It just seems like HP got extremely greedy on this otherwi...

If this is XP then you haven't been using it much! This is an inferior product--too much plastic, wrapping and waste. Cyan is in my company's logo and we have to use 3 for each black cartridge. Have the same problem with HP cartridges on both the 7500 and the 6500. And by the by, is the markup 1500 or 2000%? A rip-off to be sure!!

Had not installed product yet.
I question the printer cautioning about the possibility of being low on ink. Purchased all four cartridges based on warning but everything is functioning. I now worry that they will dry out before use.

I want a longer life
The color xl cartridges have way to short life. The black xl cartridges are great and exceeded my expectations. The printer is perfect for my use. The photo printing is so so but this is not my use for the printer. I don't mind the price of the cartridges if they lasted longer
