A Clarification...
For all those purchasing 920XL color ink cartridges (cyan, magenta, yellow), know that the dimensions of them are exactly the same as those of the regular 920 color ink cartridges. There is simply more ink in the cartridges!
I just wanted to post this clarification because the 920XL ink cartridge for black is physically bigger than the one for the regular 920 black. XL ...

920 ink and 6500 printer
Terrible ink performance and incorrect out of ink prompts. You may get 30 prints and then the out of ink message comes on, but you will get another 200 prints so just ignore the prompt

Cartridges always dry out
I use my HP 6500 occassionally and without fail the ink is always drying out. I've had good luck with HP's in the past, but this printer eats ink and when you don't use it is dries out quickly.

More time printing...less time clogging
Tried other brands of printers/cartriges...all seem to clog if not used in more than a couple of days, this one has yet to fail me,and works well even while warning it's near the end of it's service life.

Correct
Sometimes draws a thin, black vertical line on printed pages.
"Yes" or "no" recommendation does not apply. Have to use it with HP printer currently in use.

Not giving enough rich dark color
Not completely satisfied. Considering the price of the ink, it should have a better quality to it.

Lasts longer than standard 920
All printer ink ink is overpriced and underperforms. The 920XL cartrodge and the Officejet 6500 that it is powered by underperfoms a whole lot less than the Lexmark that it replaced. At least the HP uses all of the ink in the cartridge.

Good Quality
The cartridges have performed very well. I cannot say the same thing about the printer they go into - HP Officejet 6500A.

set the print image on low to conserve ink. unfortunately, you must remember to do it everytime you print. the printer will not keep it in its memory.marketing ploy.
