Did not perform as advertised
I bought this thinking it would last longer than the smaller cartridge. I got less than 30 printed pages. Office Jet Pro 8500 constantly is cleaning the printheads, etc. using up ink as if it were water.

Very good product, but very pricey
All of the 940 cartridges are excellent - but too pricey,and at this time there are no substitutes for the HP brand. To replace all four cartridges in my all-in-one printer costs nearly [$]!!

Pricey, but no problems
We use HP in our printers because of past problems with re-manufactured cartridges. One problem is the printer will not print when you have to replace a cartridge. There may still be toner left in the cartridge. Just another way for HP to push the envelope.

Adequate Quality, usual HP pricing
Like all HP ink, this is more expensive than it should be, and it does not last as long as they claim it does -about 400 pages maximum. It is better at lasting long than the cartridges for the cheaper printers, but does not have the "extreme longevity" HP claims.

The ink evaporates!
The only disappointment with the HP 8500 printer is the color cartridges. I rarely use color for my business, yet the ink evaporates, which forces me to buy new cartridges since the printer will not operate without them.
THIS IS A TERRIBLE MONEY GRAB BY HP. I REFUSE TO RECOMMEND THE OTHERWISE FINE PRINTER BECAUSE OF IT.

I use mostly black and white documents.
One draw back is when the color cartridges are empty the printer still won't print black ink.
Maddening and simply a way to force one to purchase product that they may not really need.
I wish I had stayed using my old printer and saved the money on the purchase of the new 8500.
