Expiration before used
I found that the cartridge has an expiration date. Because of the expiration date the printer will not work. Brand new cartridge will not work. So if you purchase back up cartridges, they may not work when you go to use them.
HP does not advertise this or notify you about this until it is too late.
It is cheaper to buy a new copier with cartridges than to replace all 6 ...

Ink Cartridge Expire
I have four HP printers at home. My newer printers have an expiration date on the ink cartridges. I like to save money by buying two cartridges at a time. I have had to toss out ink cartridges because the cartridge expired before I used all the ink in the cartridge. It really is what it is!
How do you rate something you have to have? The printer takes this type of cartridge so I buy it. It's fine - works well, easy to use but really, I don't have a choice except to buy a whole new printer.

Way TOO Expensive
For the amount of ink you get in one cartrige it is way less expesive to purachase a color laser printer. I now know to look closely at the price of the ink cartridge when looking to buy a printer.

I will see if this higher yeild, more expensive cartridge lasts any longer. I barely use color ink for printing, but somehow my cartridges become empty! At least my printer thinks so!I think HP has it set up to keep the money coming in!!

Destroyed my printer
Sprayed ink all over the inside of the printer and destroyed it. HP made their name with printers and used to be the absolute king, but this one was a piece of doo doo. I will think long and hard before I buy an HP printer again. Have switched to Kodak now.
