Expiration before used
I found that the cartridge has an expiration date. Because of the expiration date the printer will not work. Brand new cartridge will not work. So if you purchase back up cartridges, they may not work when you go to use them.
HP does not advertise this or notify you about this until it is too late.
It is cheaper to buy a new copier with cartridges than to replace all 6 ...

HP02 cartridges
I've had my printer for many years and always used the HP 02 cartridges. They're a bit pricey but the print quality is excellent. I like that that the color cartridges are individual. I appreciate that there is a rebate for recycling.

High Yield HP Ink
These cartridges are the high yield so you get a lot more output from each one. The quality of the ink is also better than the generic so you have sharper printouts and the color in them is just right.

All HP inks
we buy all our HP 02 Inks from Staples. All inks are great. Last a long time and produce real nice pictures. HP inks do not smear on photo paper, which is a nice feature if you accidently touch picture right out of printer. Colors are true. Staples deliverys are always on time. We buy all our inks on line for convenience and price.
